There are many reasons for us human beings to exist. Likewise, there are many reasons for insects to exist, no matter how annoying and scary they can be in certain situations. Wherever you go, be it in the streams, sea, mountains, an open field, or even different seasons of a year. You will always find the presence of insects. There are different types of insect bites which are:

  • Mosquito Bites: It is the most common type of insect bite a human being comes across and one of the most dangerous types. Mosquito bites can lead to severe cases like Malaria, Dengue, Zika, etc. some of the symptoms of these diseases are Fever, chills, a bad headache, muscle, and joint pain.  
  • Tick Bites: Mostly, people may not feel any symptoms when a tick is biting, but it can feed on you for many days until it falls off. So for precaution, it is necessary to check on your skin if you’re in an area where there’s a lot of ticks. Red lumps, blisters, itchiness, or bruising are the symptoms of tick bites
  • Bed Bug Bites:  When your bed or furniture is affected by bed bugs, you tend to have bed bug bites which can affect your face and body. If you have red itchy bumps on your face, legs, and hands in a straight line or curvy pattern, it is most likely to be a bed bug bite. 


How to Tell If a Bite is Infected?


In severe cases, below are the symptoms that show you are infected:

  • Pus
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Severe swelling
  • Lymph nodes

Insect Bite Allergies


There are two types of allergies which are: 


Local Skin Allergic Reaction: Many people have an allergic reaction to the bite of an insect. The symptoms are itching, red bumps, swelling, etc. If you have a local skin allergic reaction, you are less likely to get affected by a severe allergic reaction.


General Skin Allergic Reaction: Although it is not life-threatening, it does affect one’s body more than just the surface skin area. It is when a sting can infect the skin other than the affected area with symptoms like red swelling skin, rash, hives, etc. 





Constantly having these problems can be stressful, so it is best to visit a doctor for medication and proper treatment.


Treatment


Mostly, insect infections are affected on the skin, which is a mild impact and can be treated by following remedies:

  • Cold compression on the affected area will ease the swelling.
  • Ointments on the skin can help cure the itchiness left behind by the bug.
  • If the pain is too severe, you can have paracetamol, ibuprofen to seek relief.

If the infected area is grave, it is best advised to seek the help of a doctor.
